On November 29th, 2024, the Walking Talkies initiative kicked off its first program at the Pitipana Catholic Church in Negombo. The event brought together children from various children’s societies for a day filled with film screenings, discussions, and interactive activities.
The program focused on a diverse range of topics, including environmental conservation, teenage life, and personal development. By utilizing the power of film, the organizers aimed to spark critical thinking, inspire social change, and empower young minds.
The event was organized under the leadership of Rev. Sr. Dr. Rasika Pieris, with the invaluable support of Mr. Ravindu Fernando, Mrs. Upeksha Weerasinghe, and Mrs. Priyan Shanaka. This collaborative effort between Talento Creative Agency, Talento Film Club, Tulana Media Unit, and the Nature Conservation and Research Organization of Sri Lanka highlights the commitment to fostering youth development and community engagement.

2024 නොවැම්බර් 29 වන දින, “වෝකින් ටෝකීස්” එකමුතුව සිය පළමු වැඩසටහන මීගමුව පිටිපන කතෝලික දේවස්ථානයේදී ආරම්භ කරන ලදී. මෙම වැඩසටහන කෙටි ළමා චිත්‍රපට ප්‍රදර්ශන, චිත්‍රපට සම්බන්ධ සාකච්ඡා සහ චිත්‍රපට කියවීම ගැනත් අන්තර් ක්‍රියාකාරකම් වලින් පිරුණු දිනයක් විය. මෙම වැඩසටහන, එම දේවස්ථානය ආශ්‍රිත විවිධ ළමා සමිතිවල ළමුන් එක්රැස් කරගෙන සිදුකරන ලදී.
එමෙන්ම වැඩසටහන තුළ පරිසරය, පරිසරය රසවිඳීම, සංරක්ෂණය මෙන්ම යොවුන් වියේ ජීවිතය සහ පුද්ගල සංවර්ධනය, ස්වයං ආරක්ෂාව ඇතුළු විවිධ මාතෘකා ඔස්සේ අවධානය යොමු කරන ලදී. සිනමා මාධ්‍යයට ආවේනික වූ සිනමාත්මක ප්‍රකාශනය මූලික කරගෙන ගනිමින් දරුවන් තුල සිනමාත්මක කියවීම සහ විචාරක චින්තනය ඇති කිරීම කෙරෙහිද, සමාජ වෙනසක් ඇති කිරීම උදෙසා උත්තේජනයක් ඇති කිරීම සහ නව යොවුන් වියේ පසුවන දරුවන්ගේ සිතුවිලි සවිබල ගැන්වීම මෙම වැඩසටහනේ අරමුණ විය.
ආචාර්ය රසිකා පීරිස් පැවිදි සොහොයුරිය මෙම වැඩසටහන සංවිධානය කළ අතර, රවිඳු ප්‍රනාන්දු, උපේක්ෂා වීරසිංහ, ප්‍රියාන් ශානක යන මහත්ම මහත්මීන්ගේ සම්පත් දායකත්වයෙන් එය සාර්ථකව සිදු කිරීමට හැකි විය. එමෙන්ම Talento Creative Agency, Talento Film Club, තුලන මාධ්‍ය ඒකකය (TMU) සහ Nature Conservation and Research Organization of Sri Lanka සංවිධානයේ සහයෝගීතා ප්‍රයත්නයේ ප්‍රතිඵලයකි.
වෝකින් ටෝකීස් දරුවන්ගේ, යෞවනයන්ගේ සහ තරුණයන්ගේ ජීවිත කෙරෙහි ධනාත්මක බලපෑමක් ඇති කිරීම වෙනුවෙන් කැපවී සිටී. ගුණාත්මක චිත්‍රපට හරහා අලුත් චින්තනයකට ප්‍රවේශය ලබා දීමෙන් සහ ධනාත්මක ක්‍රියාකාරකම් හරහා, අපි ඊළඟ පරම්පරාව අලුත් කරන්නන් ගොඩනැගීමට, දිරිමත් කිරීමට උත්තේජනයක් ලබා දෙන්නෙමු….
