Today marked the exciting launch of the Walking Talkies program at Ratnawali Girls’ College, Colombo! This transformative 6-month workshop series aims to nurture the creative potential of young girls through the art of filmmaking.
Fifty enthusiastic students from Ratnawali Girls’ College embarked on their cinematic journey, attending the inaugural session. The day was filled with an engaging orientation, providing a foundational understanding of filmmaking and the exciting possibilities that lie ahead. The students were introduced to the program’s structure, which includes weekly workshops designed to build their knowledge and skills in all aspects of film production.
The event was graced by the presence of the school’s esteemed Principal, Mrs. Deepani Kosta, Dr. Suresh Madushan Perera, and dedicated teachers, all demonstrating their unwavering support for this enriching initiative. The program was expertly led by Mr. Ravindu Fernando and Priyan Shanaka, directors of the Walking Talkies team, who shared their passion for cinema and inspired the students to dream big.
Walking Talkies is proud to collaborate with TALENTO (PVT) Ltd, Tulana Research Center, and the Department of Drama, Cinema and Television at the University of Kelaniya, who are generously contributing their expertise and resources to this program.
Over the next six months, these talented girls will delve into the world of filmmaking, learning everything from scriptwriting and cinematography to editing and sound design. The culmination of their efforts will be showcased at a grand short film festival, where their original creations will be celebrated.

අද දින කොළඹ රත්නාවලී බාලිකා විද්‍යාලයේ ‘අපේ ඉස්කෝලේ ෆිල්ම් වර්ක්ෂොප් එක’ වැඩසටහනේ උද්යෝගිමත් ආරම්භය අද සනිටුහන් කළේය! මෙම පාසලේ සිසුන්ව පරිවර්තනීය වෙනසකට යොමු කරන මාස 6 ක වැඩමුළු මාලාවේ අරමුණ වන්නේ චිත්‍රපට නිර්මාණ කලාව හරහා තරුණ දරුවන්ගේ නිර්මාණාත්මක හැකියාවන් පෝෂණය කිරීමයි.
රත්නාවලී බාලිකා විද්‍යාලයේ උද්යෝගිමත් ශිෂ්‍යාවන් පනස් දෙනෙකු සමාරම්භක සැසියට සහභාගී වෙමින් ඔවුන්ගේ සිනමා ගමන ආරම්භ කළහ. මෙම දිනය ආකර්ශනීය බවකින් පිරී තිබූ අතර, චිත්‍රපට නිර්මාණය සහ ඉදිරියේදී මෙම වැඩමුළුමාලාව තුළ ඇති විශේෂතා සහ අවස්ථා පිළිබඳ මූලික අවබෝධයක් ලබා දෙන ලදී. චිත්‍රපට නිර්මාණයේ සියලු අංශවල ඔවුන්ගේ දැනුම සහ කුසලතා ගොඩනැගීම සඳහා සැලසුම් කර ඇති සතිපතා වැඩමුළු ඇතුළත් වැඩසටහනේ ව්‍යුහයට සිසුන් හඳුන්වා දෙන ලදී.
පාසලේ ගෞරවනීය විදුහල්පතිනි දීපානි කොස්තා මහත්මිය, නාට්‍ය හා රංග කළා ආචාර්ය සුරේෂ් මධුෂාන් පෙරේරා සහ මේ වෙනුවෙන් කැපවුණු ගුරුවරුන්ගේ පැමිණීමෙන් උත්සවය අලංකාර විය, ඔවුන් සියලු දෙනාම මෙම මුලපිරීම සඳහා ඔවුන්ගේ නොසැලෙන සහයෝගය පෙන්නුම් කළහ. වෝකින් ටෝකීස් කණ්ඩායමේ ප්‍රධාන අධ්‍යක්ෂකවරුන් වන රවිඳු ප්‍රනාන්දු සහ ප්‍රියාන් ශානක මහතා විසින් මෙම වැඩසටහන දක්ෂ ලෙස මෙහෙයවන ලද අතර, සිනමාව කෙරෙහි ඇති ඔවුන්ගේ දැක්ම සහ ආශාව සිසුන් සමඟ බෙදා ගත් අතර සිසුන්ව සිනමාත්මක සිහින දැකීමට පෙළඹවූහ.
මෙම වැඩසටහනට තම විශේෂඥතාව සහ සම්පත් නොමසුරුව දායක වන TALENTO (PVT) Ltd, තුලන පර්යේෂණ ආයතනය සහ කැලණිය විශ්ව විද්‍යාලයේ නාට්‍ය, සිනමා හා රූපවාහිනී අධ්‍යයන අංශය සමඟ සහයෝගයෙන් කටයුතු කෙරෙනු ඇත.
ඉදිරි මාස හය තුළ, මෙම දැරියන් චිත්‍රපට නිර්මාණයේ ගැඹුරට පිවිසෙනු ඇත, තිර රචනය සහ සිනමාකරණයේ සිට සංස්කරණය සහ ශබ්ද නිර්මාණය දක්වා සියල්ල ඉගෙන ගනු ඇත. ඔවුන්ගේ උත්සාහයේ කූටප්‍රාප්තිය ඔවුන්ගේ මුල් නිර්මාණ සමඟ සමරනු ලබන විශේෂිත කෙටි චිත්‍රපට උළෙලකදී ප්‍රදර්ශනය කිරීමට කොළඹ රත්නාවලී විදුහල සැලසුම් කරමින් සිටිති.
